It might seem trite to suggest that the abduction of Madeleine McCann leaves us, "verbally challenged." But that is not my intention. I simply want to acknowledge that this is a case in point. The more I think about Madeleine's predicament, (the sheer cruelty of what has been done to her), and that of her family, the more I understand how inadequate words are, as a means of giving expression to the deep emotions that have been stirred by this particular child abduction. And I use the words: "this particular child abduction" deliberately. What makes the case of Madeleine different from the other child abductions that I know of, is, that the person or persons who took her from her bed, broke in to the holiday apartment to steal her. So whatever else it was, Madeleine was not abducted on impulse. Which is what makes it, "A Challenge To All Of Us."
But words are all that we have. So I hope that if you have not done so already, you will go to the "Missing Madeleine" website, download the family photographs and publish them on you space. All that it will take, is a few moments of your time; and your space just might be the one that will jog someone's memory and lead to the safe return of Madeline to her family.
